The two companies use funds to support relief efforts in the panhandle.

Tampa, Fla. – Eola Apparel, LLC, an Orlando-based apparel company, and WestCMR, a market leading surgery supply company, recently worked together to donate monies to Hurricane Michael relief.  Hurricane Michael left many without homes or resources after it brought high winds, heavy rain, and extreme storm surges to the Florida Panhandle.

Knowing the area will be faced with this devastation for years to come, many generous individuals and companies are donating time and money to inspire hope for those who suffering from the storms’ aftermath. Among these companies were Eola Apparel, LLC and WestCMR. The two companies joined forces to achieve one goal: help the victims of Hurricane Michael.

“When I saw what was happening to our friends in the Panhandle, I couldn’t sit idly by,” Erin Ward, Owner of Eola Apparel said. “We built our business on the shoulders of our community and we felt a deep responsibility to help our Florida family during their time of need.”

Eola Apparel decided to donate 100% of their profits from their signature vintage Florida Flag design to the American Red Cross to assist with Hurricane Michael efforts.

Ward had shared a post on social media regarding their decision to donate to the relief in the area when Anthony Leandri, Sales Manager from WestCMR, inspired and lend also assistance.

“When I saw Erin’s post about using the revenue from her Eola shirts it struck a chord in me,” Leandri said. “My fiancé and I had been watching the devastating news about hurricane Michael, saw the damage being done, and were praying to figure out how we could help in a tangible way.”

He considered Erin’s post as a blessing in disguise to know how he could best help the victims of the hurricane.

Leandri, along with Philanthropy Committee Head Jennifer Perkins, CFO Mike Fitzgerald, and CEO Randy Ware, decided to buy the signature t-shirt for all 50 WestCMR employees.

“I believe we have a purpose to help, in whatever industry we are in,” Leandri continued. “So, I had an idea.”

Inspired by Eola Apparel’s contributions, WestCMR decided that 5% of all sales during a seven-day period would be contributed to Team Rubicon, a non-profit who unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams to impacted areas.

“We are still in shock by the philanthropic actions of Leandri and the entire WestCMR team,” Ward said. “We hope that this inspires other leaders in our community to work together and help with relief.”
